Fear Isn't a Stop Sign. It's a Compass.
Leaving law, moving countries, and chasing every fear I could find — why courage comes after the jump, not before it.

Most people think fear is something to avoid.
I've come to believe the opposite.
Fear often points directly toward the life you're meant to live.
For years, I was on a completely different path.
I had spent fifteen years working toward becoming a lawyer.
On paper, my future looked secure.
But deep down, something didn't feel right.
Around that time, I read Blake Mycoskie's book, Start Something That Matters.
It planted a question in my mind that refused to go away.
"What if I built something that actually changed people's lives?"
That question eventually became Empowered Elixir.
But before it became a company...
It was terrifying.
People often say,
"Show me your five closest friends, and I'll show you your future."
The problem was...
I didn't have five people around me who were living the kind of life I wanted.
So I found mentors another way.
Through books.
Through seminars.
Through investing in people who had already walked the path I hoped to travel.
I read Blake Mycoskie, Richard Branson, Martha Beck, Les Brown, and Bob Proctor.
Eventually, I had the privilege of working one-on-one with Martha Beck, Les Brown and Bob Proctor themselves.
Their books expanded my thinking.
Their mentorship challenged me to become the person my future required.
They became the voices in my head until I found people like them in real life.
One day, standing outside my principal's office at the law firm, I remember sending someone I greatly admired a message on Instagram.
To help me muster the courage .
Maybe I just wanted one person who believed that dreams this big were possible.
Then I walked into that office.
I resigned.
Planned a one way trip to the United States.
And told almost no one.
Not because I didn't love the people in my life.
Because I knew they loved me.
And people who love you sometimes try to protect you with their own fears.
I couldn't afford to borrow someone else's limitations before I'd even tested my own.
When I arrived in California, I didn't know how to start a beverage company.
There wasn't AI.
Google couldn't tell me how to build an organic beverage brand from scratch.
I didn't know who to call.
I didn't know where to begin.
So I invested in the only thing I knew I could control.
Myself.
I joined the famous Venice Gold's Gym because I wanted to be surrounded by people who believed big things were possible.
I attended seminars.
Read obsessively.
Found mentors.
Asked questions.
Kept moving.
Then I realized something else.
If I wanted to build a company capable of changing lives...
I had to become someone capable of building it.
So I started chasing every fear I could find.
I had almost no confidence.
So I enrolled in acting classes with John Ruskin at the Meisner School of Acting.
I wanted to find my voice.
I wanted to become comfortable being seen.
I wanted to sing.
So I learned from Stevie Mackay.
Not because I dreamed of becoming a singer.
Because I refused to let fear decide what I was capable of.
I was terrified of heights.
So I took up skydiving.
It took me nearly fifty jumps before the fear finally loosened its grip.
Most people think courage comes first.
It doesn't.
Courage is what grows after you've jumped anyway.
I wanted to ride motorcycles.
As a passenger?
No problem.
Riding one myself?
That terrified me.
So I earned my motorcycle license.
Not because I needed a motorcycle.
Because I wanted proof that I could become someone who did difficult things.
Looking back, none of those experiences were random.
They weren't teaching me how to build Empowered Elixir.
They were teaching me how to become the woman who could figure it out.
People often ask where confidence comes from.
It doesn't come from affirmations.
It doesn't come from waiting.
It comes from collecting evidence.
Every difficult conversation.
Every risk.
Every uncomfortable decision.
Every fear you face becomes another vote for the person you're becoming.
That's why I believe fear isn't the enemy.
Comfort & complacency are.
Fear usually means you're standing at the edge of growth.
Comfort whispers,
"Stay where you are."
Fear whispers,
"There's more waiting for you."
The question is...
Which voice are you going to follow?
If there's one thing I've learned, it's this:
The life you want is almost always hiding behind the thing you're avoiding.
The risk you're delaying.
The business you're afraid to start.
The dream you've convinced yourself is too unrealistic.
Don't wait until you're fearless.
You'll be waiting forever.
Take the step anyway.
One day, you'll look back and realize fear wasn't trying to stop you.
It was pointing you exactly where you were meant to go.
Choose action.
Your future self is already cheering you on.
Live It. Then Give It.™
